Dear Jason,
Forests are threatened, but you can help protect them — help us make our match! A generous group of our donors has pledged to match all new gifts between now and December 31, up to $50,000. That means your gift to Pacific Forest Trust could be doubled.
Forests are threatened by climate change, increasingly intense wildfires, and past management. And in a struggling rural economy, landowners face real pressure to develop and convert their properties for other uses.
That's where Pacific Forest Trust comes in. We work with landowners of all sizes to ensure their forests remain forests. We help ensure their forests are managed to benefit wildlife habitat, water quality, and a well-balanced climate—and to remain productive, contributing to healthy rural economies. We steward more than 100,000 acres in Oregon and California through working forest conservation easements, which protect the land in perpetuity.
This has been a big year for PFT. We established a new office in Portland, we sponsored successful legislation in California that dedicated $1 billion of funding to forest health and wildfire prevention, and by year end we'll have permanently protected more than 6,300 additional acres with new conservation easements in the Mt. Shasta headwaters area.
Our work in the “radical middle” allows forests and those who depend on them to thrive—and it's your generosity that makes it happen. Can you help us make the match? Donate today at https://www.pacificforest.org/match.
With gratitude,
Laurie A. Wayburn
President, Pacific Forest Trust
P.S. Don't forget that any gifts that go above and beyond your contribution from last year—including brand-new contributions!—will be matched, but only until the end of this month. Thank you for doubling the effectiveness of your gift to protect forests for all their benefits: wood, water, wildlife, and well-being.
